The Somalian pirates have threatened to avenge their fallen comrades after the daring rescue of Captain Phillips. They intend to hurt anyone who has the "appearance" of an American or French person - which could be just about anyone with Caucasian features. The question is, how much influence do the Somalian pirates have on mainland Somalia and in Mogadishu? Do they have the power to carry through on this threat? The Somalian pirates seem to have influence over the Somalian seas for now, but, for how much longer? The more they put at risk the harsher the military response will be from nations that use that sea lane.
